Now that final exams are over, it’s time to get out and enjoy your break! After all, you’ve earned it. IDENTITY Davis is here to help you start your celebrations off with a bang. Check out these three winter activities in and around Davis.
Visit UC Davis Arboretum
You might be thinking a trip to the UC Davis Arboretum and Public Garden during the winter is the worst time to visit. Think again. Thanks to our cool, wet winters, this is the start of the growing season for many native and Mediterranean-climate plants, such as ornamental tree bark and glossy berries. Plus, the space just hits different on a quiet winter morning. Open 24 hours a day and free to the public, this 100-acre botanical garden is at the top of our list, no matter the season.
Let It Snow
For some, it just doesn’t feel like winter without snow. A lot of snow. If you’re up for a road trip, head three hours east toward Bear Valley Adventure Company. There, you’ll find gorgeous cross-country ski and snowshoe trails ideal for all skill levels. This winter wonderland also boasts areas for snowboarding, snowmobiling, and more, making it one of the best spots near Davis when you want to play in the snow. It’s well worth the drive if you’re up for it!
Looking to stay warm during your break? Why not stop by one of many cool local cafes in Davis that’ll be happy to serve you a hot cup of coffee, tea, or cocoa? Take advantage of the cozy place where you can relax and catch up with friends or enjoy the space to work heads down on one of your own personal projects, discover new music, or dive into a book.
When you live so close to all the hot spots in Davis, it’s easy to plan your trips. However you decide to spend your break, all of us here at IDENTITY Davis want to wish you a happy holiday season!
